- 15 oz can Tomato sauce
- 15 oz can, drained and rinsed Kidney beans
- 15 oz can, drained and rinsed Pinto beans
- 1 cup Beef broth

Brown the Beef
In a large pot or Dutch oven, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat. Break it up with a spoon as it cooks. Drain off any excess grease.
Sauté Vegetables
Add the chopped onion and green bell pepper to the pot. Cook until softened, about 5-7 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
Add Spices
Stir in the chili powder, cumin, dried oregano, and cayenne pepper (if using). Cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly, to bloom the spices.
Add Remaining Ingredients
Pour in the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, kidney beans, pinto beans, and beef broth. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Stir well to combine.
Simmer
Bring the chili to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and let it simmer for at least 1 hour, or up to 2 hours, stirring occasionally. The longer it simmers, the more the flavors will meld together.
Serve
Serve hot, garnished with your favorite toppings such as shredded cheese, sour cream, chopped onions, or cilantro.
