Ingredients
  • 2 cups Cooked Sushi Rice
  • 4 sheets Nori Seaweed Sheets
  • 8 sticks Imitation Crab Sticks (Surimi)
  • 1 medium Avocado
  • 1/2 medium Cucumber
  • 2 tablespoons Mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame Seeds
  • For serving Soy Sauce
  • For serving Pickled Ginger
  • For serving Wasabi

Prepare the Ingredients

First, cook your sushi rice according to package instructions and let it cool slightly. Cut the crab sticks, avocado, and cucumber into long, thin strips.

Prepare the Nori Sheet

Place a sheet of nori on a bamboo sushi rolling mat (makisu). Make sure the rough side is facing up.

Spread the Rice

Wet your hands lightly to prevent the rice from sticking. Spread a thin, even layer of sushi rice over the nori sheet, leaving about 1 inch of space at the top edge.

Add the Filling

Spread a thin line of mayonnaise across the center of the rice. Arrange crab sticks, avocado, and cucumber strips on top of the mayonnaise.

Roll the Sushi

Using the bamboo mat, begin rolling the sushi tightly from the edge closest to you. Lift the mat as you roll, pressing gently to keep the roll compact. Once you reach the end, wet the remaining nori edge with a little water and seal the roll.

Slice and Serve

Using a sharp, wet knife, slice the roll into 6-8 even pieces. Sprinkle with sesame seeds. Serve immediately with soy sauce, pickled ginger, and wasabi.
