Spice up your grill with these flavorful Harissa Chicken Skewers. Marinated in a vibrant blend of harissa paste, lemon, and herbs, these skewers are perfect for a quick and delicious summer meal.
Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs Boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 2 tbsp Harissa paste
- 2 tbsp Olive oil
- 1 tbsp Lemon juice
- 2 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup Fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1/4 cup Fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/4 tsp Black pepper
- As needed Wooden skewers
Prepare the Marinade
In a bowl, whisk together the harissa paste, olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, cilantro, parsley, salt, and pepper.
Marinate the Chicken
Add the chicken cubes to the marinade and toss to coat evenly. Cover the bowl and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or up to 4 hours for more intense flavor.
Prepare the Skewers
Soak wooden skewers in water for at least 30 minutes to prevent them from burning on the grill. Thread the marinated chicken cubes onto the skewers, leaving a small space between each piece.
Grill the Skewers
Preheat your grill to medium heat. Place the skewers on the grill and cook for 12-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through and slightly charred. Ensure the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
Serve
Remove the skewers from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh cilantro or parsley, if desired. Serve hot with your favorite sides.

What can I serve with these skewers?
These skewers pair well with couscous, grilled vegetables, a simple salad, or pita bread with hummus. -
Can I use a different type of chili paste?
Yes, you can substitute harissa paste with another chili paste, but the flavor profile will be different. Consider using gochujang or a spicy red pepper paste.
