A flavorful and incredibly quick garlic parsley pasta recipe, perfect for a weeknight meal when you're short on time. Ready in just 10 minutes!
Ingredients
- 200 g Spaghetti or Linguine
- 3 cloves Garlic
- 1/2 cup Fresh Parsley
- 4 tbsp Olive Oil
- 1/4 tsp Red Pepper Flakes (optional)
- to taste Salt
- to taste Black Pepper
- to taste Parmesan Cheese (optional)
Boil the Pasta
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package directions until al dente. Reserve about 1/2 cup of pasta water before draining.
Prepare the Garlic and Parsley
While the pasta is cooking, finely chop the garlic and parsley. Make sure to chop the parsley finely for best flavor distribution.
Sauté the Garlic
In a large skillet or pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped garlic and red pepper flakes (if using) and sauté for about 30 seconds to 1 minute, until fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic, as it will become bitter.
Combine and Serve
Add the drained pasta to the skillet with the garlic-infused oil. Toss to coat. Add the chopped parsley and toss again. If the pasta seems dry, add a little of the reserved pasta water to create a light sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve immediately, garnished with Parmesan cheese (optional).

FAQ
-
Can I use dried parsley instead of fresh?
Fresh parsley provides a much better flavor. If you must use dried, use about 1-2 teaspoons, but be aware that the flavor will be less vibrant. -
Can I add other vegetables?
Yes! Sautéed mushrooms, spinach, or cherry tomatoes would be great additions. Add them to the skillet after the garlic is fragrant. -
What if I don't have red pepper flakes?
You can omit them entirely or substitute a pinch of cayenne pepper for a similar level of heat.
