Ingredients
  • 8 cups Water
  • 4 Black Tea Bags
  • 2 large, pitted and sliced Fresh Peaches
  • 2-3 tablespoons (or to taste) Honey
  • 1 tablespoon (optional) Lemon Juice
  • as needed Ice
  • as needed (for garnish) Peach slices or mint sprigs

Brew the Tea

Bring 4 cups of water to a boil in a saucepan. Remove from heat and add the tea bags. Let steep for 5-7 minutes, depending on desired strength. Remove the tea bags and discard.

Peach Infusion

In a blender or food processor, puree the sliced peaches until smooth. Strain the peach puree through a fine-mesh sieve into a pitcher, pressing to extract as much juice as possible. Discard the solids.

Combine and Sweeten

Pour the brewed tea into the pitcher with the peach juice. Add the remaining 4 cups of cold water. Stir in honey and lemon juice (if using) until dissolved. Adjust sweetness to taste.

Chill and Serve

Refrigerate the iced tea for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld. Serve over ice and garnish with peach slices or mint sprigs, if desired.

FAQ

  • Can I use a different type of tea?

Yes, you can use green tea, white tea, or herbal tea. Adjust the steeping time according to the type of tea you choose. For green tea, steep for only 2-3 minutes to avoid bitterness.
  • Can I use sugar instead of honey?

Yes, you can substitute sugar for honey. Start with 2 tablespoons of sugar and add more to taste. Make sure the sugar dissolves completely.
  • How long does the iced tea last?

Iced tea will last for up to 3-4 days in the refrigerator. The flavor may diminish slightly over time.
  • I don't have fresh peaches. Can I use something else?

Yes, you can use frozen peaches, canned peaches (in juice, not syrup), or peach nectar. If using canned peaches, reduce the amount of honey as they are already sweet.
