Ingredients
  • 2 bags/tsp Green Tea Bags (or loose leaf)
  • 1 cup Milk (dairy or non-dairy)
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • 1-2 tsp Honey or Maple Syrup
  • 1/4 tsp Ground Cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp Ground Ginger
  • Pinch Ground Nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp Vanilla Extract (optional)

Steep the Tea

Bring the water to a near boil (around 175°F or 80°C). Pour the hot water over the green tea bags or loose leaf tea in a mug or teapot. Steep for 2-3 minutes. Do not over steep green tea as it can become bitter. Remove tea bags or strain loose leaf tea.

Heat the Milk

While the tea is steeping, heat the milk in a saucepan over medium heat. Heat until steaming but not boiling. Alternatively, heat the milk in a microwave-safe mug for 1-2 minutes, checking frequently to prevent boiling.

Spice the Milk

Add cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and optional vanilla extract to the heated milk. Whisk well to combine and distribute the spices evenly. If you have a milk frother, froth the spiced milk for a creamier latte.

Combine and Sweeten

Pour the spiced milk into the mug with the steeped green tea. Sweeten with honey or maple syrup to your desired sweetness. Stir well to combine.

Serve

Serve immediately and enjoy the warm, comforting spiced green tea latte.
