Ingredients
  • 250 g Halloumi Cheese
  • 1/2 cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 Egg
  • 1/2 cup Panko Breadcrumbs
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1/2 cup Greek Yogurt
  • 1 tsp Sriracha Sauce
  • 1/2 tsp Lime Juice
  • 1 tbsp Chopped Cilantro
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Black Pepper

Prepare the Halloumi

Cut the halloumi cheese into sticks, about 1/2 inch thick and 3 inches long. Pat the halloumi sticks dry with paper towels.

Set up the Breading Station

Place the all-purpose flour in a shallow dish. In another shallow dish, whisk the egg with a pinch of salt and pepper. In a third shallow dish, place the panko breadcrumbs.

Bread the Halloumi Sticks

Dip each halloumi stick in the flour, then the egg, and finally the panko breadcrumbs, ensuring it's fully coated. Press the breadcrumbs gently to help them adhere.

Fry the Halloumi

Heat the olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully add the breaded halloumi sticks to the skillet in a single layer. Fry for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy. Remove the fried halloumi sticks from the skillet and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.

Prepare the Spicy Yogurt Dip

In a small bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, Sriracha sauce, lime juice, and chopped cilantro. Mix well and season with salt and pepper to taste.

Serve

Arrange the fried halloumi sticks on a serving plate. Serve with the spicy yogurt dip on the side. Enjoy immediately!
