Ingredients
  • 2 sheets Puff Pastry
  • 1 lb Sausage Meat
  • 1/2 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 1 Egg
  • 1/2 Onion
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh Parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Milk

Prepare the Sausage Filling

In a large bowl, combine the sausage meat, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, minced garlic, fresh parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix well with your hands until all ingredients are evenly distributed.

Roll Out the Pastry

Lightly flour a clean surface. Unfold one sheet of puff pastry. If the pastry is very cold, let it sit for a few minutes to soften slightly. Cut the pastry sheet in half lengthwise.

Assemble the Sausage Rolls

Divide the sausage mixture in half. Shape each half into a long log, about the same length as the pastry strips. Place one sausage log along the center of each pastry strip.

Seal and Cut

Brush one edge of the pastry with a little water or milk. Fold the other side of the pastry over the sausage filling, sealing the edges tightly with a fork. Cut each sausage roll into 6 equal pieces.

Prepare for Baking

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Place the sausage rolls on the prepared baking sheet, seam-side down.

Egg Wash and Bake

In a small bowl, whisk together the remaining egg with a tablespoon of milk to create an egg wash. Brush the tops of the sausage rolls with the egg wash. This will give them a golden-brown color.

Baking Time

Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and the sausage filling is cooked through. Let the sausage rolls cool slightly on the baking sheet before serving.
